Contact photos

There are two applications on my phone S7 for photos there is the gallery application and photo application I am trying to use a photo in photo application to use in my contacts but my contacts use the gallery application in which the photo that I want to use is not there. I downloaded the photo from Facebook it was saved to photo application I'm confused not able to use that photo for my contacts as my contacts used the gallery application I think, is there a way to copy a photo from my photo application to the gallery application I have a big misunderstanding where these two applications store their data.
I surely would appreciate some help as I'm still looking

Perhaps try opening pic in fb, long press same, select save and it should give you the option to save to device.... Try that Mike, if that doesn't work, come back and we'll trouble shoot further..
