Contacts & calendar not syncing up to Gmail account

I recently purchased the Epic and am loving it! My only issue is with syncing. Contacts and appointments sync from my Gmail account to the phone, but not vica-versa.
Does anyone have any suggestions? The techs at the Sprint strore were really no help and blamed the issue on the Gmail servers and swore it was neither the phone or service.
Please help!!!

Sometimes you need to log out and log back into your gmail account, also checking to be sure your gmail is set up with the correct syncing settings.

I know for this to work for me I had to play with the settings..

Try to google for gmail help you may find the answer.

Here's how I do it manually

To sync both calendar and contacts with my gmail accounts and my droid x, I have to go to Settings/Account then select the gmail account and then it offers to sync calendar, contacts or gmail.

I have yet to figure out how to do this automatically. Does anyone know?

I am able to get all my contacts and some of my calendar on my Epic. My issue is not all of my calendars are syncing 5 of 7 are coming through. Tried deleting and adding back the account to see if that worked...nope. Any help would be great. Had no issues on my Palm Pre.

Maybe there is a limit to the number of calendars? If so, that is SUPER lame and needs to be fixed with froyo update.
