Contacts can't be searched properly

Hi,

I have a new Moto G5 Plus, where all of my contacts were imported automatically from my Google account.
When trying to search for a specific contact, I get results only for contacts i have already called in this new device, or it searches inside the contacts' details, but not in the name.

Anyone got an idea?

I just tested it on mine and it is searching fine. How many contacts do you have? And how long has it been since you synced with Google account?

I have noticed sometimes with email for example - after first signing on it *looks* like all the emails have downloaded but they are still loading so searching doesn't find what I want but eventually it works.

Have you gone into a contact which is not showing up in search, to verify that the details are on your G5?
