Contacts in outlook via exchange do i have to transfer to gmail as well?

Sorry if this is a newbie question as the evo will be my first android device as im upgrading from a palm centro. All of my contacts that i need are stored in outlook via exchange from my employer. Im aware the evo will sync with exchange contacts and calendar. I do not use gmail for contacts, strictly for my personal email and i keep my gmail contacts empty. So my question is do i have to export my contacts into gmail from outlook or will all of my contacts be made available in all apps from exchange? I obviously dont want duplicate entries. Thanks!

I can answer the duplicates question. Gmail has a duplicate finder that will let you delete them easily.

if i where you, i would simple import the contacts to gmail.

but, i dont remeber, maybe, probably, if you set your exchange acount as primary, you cansync the main contacts with exchange.

if not, the corporate contacts are kep separateed from the main ones.
since i dont have a corporate acount, i cant tell you if they integrate into other apps

If you're set up to sync with your Exchange account then you don't need to do anything with the contacts in the Exchange account.
