contacts not assigned

[Android Central Question]

Since the Android 9 update, when I enter a new contact it says "conatct not assigned." The "my contacts" feature appears to have gone away under the Android 9 pie update. How do i get contacts to default to "my conatcts" instead of "not assigned."

Newly entered contacts are normally not assigned to any group. (I don't remember if Samsung has always assigned them to "my contacts" or not, but Google doesn't write Android that way. Assign them.)
