Contacts not syncing with Google

Have just got delivery of S6 Edge and trying to get my contacts etc down loaded from Google account. I thought it should sync automatically but does not happen. Help!

Go into settings, accounts and sync, tap your Google account, and then you should see the options of what to sync. If you've synced there, and still nothing check online to see if your contacts are in Gmail.
