Contacts Sync not working properly with Exchange

Ever since lollipop came out (on my Nexus 5 and now my Nexus 6), i have been having issues syncing my exchange account. The account will add and sync my email, contacts and calendar. After a short period of time (within a couple of days or hours), all of my contacts will delete themselves and then sometimes re-add themselves. Other times i will need to remove the account and re-add it to get my contacts back. Sometimes I will get an authentication error pop up under notifications. Emails usually work correctly through all of this, however it is very frustrating and i have not had these issues with other android devices, only my nexus devices on lollipop. I am hoping someone can help me out here.
