Adding an App to the Home Screen

1) Go to the Home screen
2) Tap on the App icon
3) Go to the "Sub Screen" that contains the appp you want. (In my case, that is the Help app).
4) Press and Drag the Help icon to the Home sreen in the position where you want it to appear.

OK. What are "Widgets"? I found the following on page 40 of "Samsung Galaxy S4 for Dummies":
Widgets are small apps that take care of simple functions, like displaying time or the status of your battery.

Adding a Widget to the Home Screen

1) Go to the Home screen
2) Tap on the Menu button
3) Tap on the "Widgets" icon

I found seven sub-screens on my phone. Yours may be different. I think the icons in a sub-screen may be in alphabetical order.

4) Find the "Settings" button. It looks like the "Settings button" and the "Torch" button are together.
But just tap on "Torch" and it seems to come loose.

5) Then press and hold Torch and drag it over to the Home screen and let go wherever you want it.

You may have to try this a few times before you get it to work. I know that I certainly had to try it a few time. But if you watch the icon as you drag it, it should help you get it to work OK.

There may be differences in these procedures between my phone and yours. But ultimately, these are both pretty simple procedures and I hope you will be able to get them working OK.

I really love having these three items on my Home screen and I sure do hope you will like them too.

Please let me know if I've made any errors in these two procedures. I'm pretty sure that it's likely I will have made some errors.

Best of luck to you! Let me know if you have any problems?
