under the current policy, yes. They may change the policy at any time.

I'll buy a phone out of pocket before I lose my unlimited data. However if I had to, I could probably live with the 4gb plan they're offering right now without too much sacrifice.

Great I was afraid I was gonna have to buy a phone dat I didn't really want

.

If you change your phone and the plan remains the same, the date remains unlimited as before

Under the current policy, any smartphone would qualify. If you change to a non smartphone, then you will lose unlimited data.

Didn't think that applied if you let your contract expire?

how does your contract "expire"? from what I understand about this, as long as I buy another smartphone when I DO upgrade, I get to keep my unlimited data. for example, my upgrade date is 20 july 2013. when I renewed, it was for two years. theoretically, I have until November of 2013 to upgrade. honestly, I don't think it even "expires" then, but this is based only on my speculation. I've never waited one day past my eligible upgrade date, so it would shock me if I don't have a new smartphone on 21 July, 2013. IF I waited until past november 2013, I don't see why I wouldn't be able to grandfather over the current unlimited data plan I currently have. maybe someone with VZW can clarify???

As it stands now, you should be fine upgrading and keeping unlimited data. Once you reach the end of your two year contract, you automatically go month-to-month and should retain the unlimited data assuming you don't cancel the line. There is no guarantee, however, that Verizon at some point won't require a tiered data plan with a new phone purchase. Isn't really a matter of if but when imo with all the recent changes.

I'm pretty sure you can sign a new contract and save your upgrade for another time. If you don't upgrade you don't lose your upgrade, you can just save it for a later date.

As of right now, you don't need to buy a new phone or upgrade to keep your unlimited data plan.

if you order mobile hotspot get unlimited data for phone and tether. so no data overage. that was out awhile ago.

That no longer works. You can still do AoL though, that would cost something up front.

Really satisfied with the phone and everything but my only complaint is that I can hear the metal part holding the SD card in the back rattling because it's loose or something I guess. Whenever I am typing something with one hand, my phone just makes a metal rattling noise and I've had my phone for a day (haven't dropped it). Anyone else's phone make rattling noise?

As long as you keep your current phone/plan active on a month-to-month basis I would think you would be fine and keep your unlimited data. I think you would only lose it if you cancelled your service waiting for a better phone.

Sounds like only lose It if going from 3 to 4g. If have it now be ok. If not get it now.
