Convince me why I need the Note 8

Long-time Samsung user currently using the S8 plus which in my eyes is pretty much a perfect phone but like many others I have a mentality of if it's new I must have it, convince me why I need the new phone or if not why I should stay with my S8 plus because I'm on the fence

Honestly nobody here should be the ones convincing you that you need the note 8. Samsung and yourself should be the one. I get that you are wanting opinions but to be honest, I can't give you anything til phone is announced in the morning. Please don't think I'm crapping on your topic. Not what I'm trying to do

Honestly nobody here should be the ones convincing you that you need the note 8. Samsung and yourself should be the one. I get that you are wanting opinions but to be honest, I can't give you anything til phone is announced in the morning. Please don't think I'm crapping on your topic. Not what I'm trying to do

No very understandable I said the same thing myself because at the end of the day I'm the one that's spending the money Samsung needs to blow me away with their presentation but it doesn't hurt to ask others there reason for upgrading

100% true. And yeah you're right. It doesn't hurt to ask. After all that is what this site is for, for discussion on the phones we love and every possible question we might have I'll be able to say more after the unpacking. I'm just a note addict lmao. I honestly loved the note7. And I love my note 5. But I got a really good feeling the note 8 is going to be awesome.

You'll never know if you need it or want it. It's basically the same thing as an S8+ with an SPen and related featurs. Any software feature that it has that is applicable to an S8 hardware wise will be given to the S8 a few months later via an update. The only reason you might want to switch is if you feel you need the SPen, and no one knows the answer to that except you.

I moved from a Galaxy S>Note 2>S7 Edge. I honestly miss the SPen. But I'm skipping the Note 8 because it's not practical to switch phones for me every year. Will be going for Note 9. Hopefully they have the underscreen fingerprint sensor by then.

The note series always gets me so excited every year, last year was a bummer and the year before that the note 5 was okay still my favorite note was the 4 which seem like the biggest upgrade coming from the Note 3. Hopefully Samsung has some tricks under there sleeves that haven't got leaked out yet. Because so far this is the first time ever I'm 50-50 and most years my mind was already made up way before the presentation

I never been big on the pen on the Note series go figure LOL I always love the size but lately every phone these days is basically the size of a note. I'm on T-Mobile so I usually upgrade twice a year, with the Note series and usually in April when the S Series is released

If you've never been big on the pen, then there's no reason for you to move from an S8, unless they suddenly announce stereo speakers and an improved DAC if that's important to you.

Yeah the only 50-50 issue I have is depending on what color option will be available. Lol. Like between blue and black. I've had the note 3, note 5, and note7. Was going to go to note 4 but by then note 5 was out. Samsung just sucked me in as soon as I got the note 3. Before Samsung i was always using Motorola phones lol. And yeah I also hope they have some surprises that haven't already been leaked or rumored.

But that is not what you asked. You asked for people to convince you. Buying a phone is personal and based on needs (real and imagined). Forum members can provide information on why they buying a phone.

Seriously for a S8+ user to upgrade to Note 8, the only valid reason is you have too much spare cash.

Even yearly upgrade is too frequent to me, half yearly upgrade is... [BOX][/BOX]

I'm definitely not rolling in money lol, I'm leaning more towards staying with my S8 Plus for a little longer unless the presentation tomorrow comes with a lot of surprises which 8 think is doubtful

i wasn't convinced, the Mate 9 is going super strong i'll wait for the Mate 10, and i don't need spen as well, also 3300mah will be very bad for heavy user like myself.

I can only say, as a user since the Note 2, there's an emotional component that is impossible to describe. Since the Note 7 was taken away I've had a S7 Edge and an S8+ and they leave me cold. Can't wait for the Note 8.
