Long-time Samsung user currently using the S8 plus which in my eyes is pretty much a perfect phone but like many others I have a mentality of if it's new I must have it, convince me why I need the new phone or if not why I should stay with my S8 plus because I'm on the fence

The god's honest truth is that I don't care if you get one or not. Having said that, I cannot TELL you how much I miss my S-pen. Not a day goes by that I don't wish I had the ability to just jot a quick note on my screen.

If you value the pen and want the fancier camera, that would be about the only reason. That said, you are paying for that, since already have a VERY similar 8+ that has a bigger battery.

No exactly a big jump from the 8+. More like a skip with a small trip (smaller battery). Unless the pen is a huge factor, of course.

No. It's not our job to convince you of anything. Look at what the device brings and then decide for yourself.

No one needs a Note 8, no one needs an S8, they are both expensive luxuries.

Personally unless you have been a heavy S Pen user in the past I think it's foolish to replace an S8 with a Note 8.
