Cool feature of preinstalled Allshare app

I had a chance to play with the pre installed all share application last night in there is 1 really cool feature. There is a download feature where you can take music video or pictures from your pc and send them to the Tab over wifi. It took about 3 minutes to transfer a 400 megabytes video file to the tab. The cool thing is, I was sitting in bed and the computer with the file was 3 floors down.

that is sweet does it come on all tabs or just certain carriers.

I would think it would be on all of them. Mine is tmobile.

my macbook won't work w/ it. oh wait it is an apple product and they only play ice w/ the rich kids. looks like my NAS drive is going to get alot of work.

i was going to look for a app today to access my nas drive but i don't have to now.

How do you set it up to access the network? I can't figure out how to view my shared drives.

I have all my media folders on my pc set to "share". All I did was turn on allshare and it found everything over my wifi. There was no setup. I have noticed since loading all my music (10gb) on to my media pc allshere crashes when loading the audio tab. Bad file, too many...not sure. I am using audiogalaxy to stream music so I don't care about that for me. I just like the video importing which seems to work great.

I use logmein from the road to start torrents on that machine and do dropbox to transfer to the tab. Logmein + dropbox is the best I have found when not on my network.

I was showing of the tab a few nights ago at a dinner party and told someone how I could get any movie I wanted and have it on my tab in an hour. He asked me for Inseption. Used logmein and dropbox and had it in 45 minutes. He was pretty blown away.

I need to get the audio app. I use logmein but I don't leave my computer on all the time. I use netportal by stratospherix on my iphone and ipad. I want to find something like that for my gtab. what I do is open a port and I have access to it all the time, but leaving a port open is asking for trouble at times. I will try what you are using. Sounds pretty awesome.

I think logmein just added a "wake" feature if the computer you are trying to log into is asleep. Mine is on all the time though. Audio galaxy is great but again you need the pc on all the time.

I have the new version. I just need enable wol on my iMac. Not for sure if I can do it or not as my iMac is using the wifi and hooked into the network via the Network card.

Curney, I have logmein for iPad as well and the android version is much better. The wol feature is not available for apple iOS devices. One more reason my gtab is better than the iPad.

Nice. I had an ipad for a week and just felt it was too big. Its funny, with the ipad I started out amazed and went to "Meh" in a week. I was the opposite with the tab. When I first saw the tab I just laughed. Huge crappy Samsung phone with no voice!? I played with it at the store and for 3 weeks I just kept think how handy it would be....till I bought it.

n e 1 else use allshare and find that it cAN access network folders NOT set to share ???

daughter's boyfriend's phone is on my network and he is an evil dude. If I can't get it to follow network protocol I'll have to block the app in firewall I guess
