I just want to vent a little. Apparently our "know nothing" corporate rep is screwing the pooch with the Droid Incredible launch. For some reason he is telling us that we will not be getting our phones until Friday, 4/30 and that they're shipping on Thurdsay, 4/29. I have given him every link that Verizon has stated that as long as its ordered by the 4/28 you're going to get it 4/29. This is the same guy that said that Android would never be a real player and it's just a passing fad :mad:

The stores are probaly not going to recieve them for up to 2 weeks.. After the official release date. I have been told....
 
From what I've gathered.. many Verizon people do not know what they are talking about. I find that if you talk to educated people on certain forums, you will have more accurate information than many Verizon people

ha, did you tell him to go check the verizon site? I mean it's clear as day on there.

Pre-orders placed online before 4pm local time on 4/28 will be delivered 4/29.
 
My friend ownes a Premier Verizon store. He said he has not recived any info on shipment of Incred's to his store. He told me he might take 2 weeks to get a shipment in. He told me to preorder if I wanted to get them right away. So I DID!
 
The stores are probaly not going to recieve them for up to 2 weeks.. After the official release date. I have been told....

that would be absolutely rediculous.. I went to Verizon last Wednesday and spoke with an employee about it and he told me that they will have them on the 29th. If they dont im going to be furious because I would of had no problem pre-ordering that phone if that were the case and because this is already the slowest week of my life waiting for Thursday to come along.
 
Herb, they are going to get them at costco also but the computer shows no arival date either....?????

I'm riding in the same boat as you. I went to the local corporate store and after i asked to pre-order my incredible, she told me just to come back on the 29th and she'd have one for me, no problem.

And i also, am having the slowest week ever....it may be sad, but i'm having dreams about this phone, and i've watched so many videos of it that i can almost visualize it in my hands, lol.
 
I am so glad that I came in this post first before I posted my own thread. I called my local Verizon store and spoke some chick who evidently didn't know what she was talking about. I should have followed my first mind and preordered it but nevertheless I still will. Anyways, told me that she wasn't going to get the device for maybe another week and they don't get shipments till Thursday. I lightweight got pissed that a corporate store would be so far behind or maybe they have been fielding calls all day and wanted to just tell me anything.
 
I got my fedex tracking from big red yesterday. I will have mine wens the 28th. If you access your vzw account online it will give you your tracking number.

Good idea. I will try to check into the tracking info. We ordered four of them last week. It's funny becuase he told me that the cut off was last Friday and clearly he was once again wrong since again on the website it needs to be ordered by the 28th. As much as he's wrong and talks out of his a$$ he should become a meteorologist or a Matt Millen wannabe (sorry he still pisses me off). I even tried to bribe him with an all access/no holes barred pass to the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Community Zoo and still no luck :p
 
Yup, I agree some Corp reps are idiots.
I emailed my corp rep about 2 days before that Thurs that Verizon gave their "official" announcement of the INC and to pre-order starting the 19th. So this was 2 days before and she emailed back that she talked to her "Data Specialist Manager" and she was told Q3 of this year. LOL.. WTF?!?!? pa-leeze

And then 2 days later the 99% Conference happened and VZW gave their official announcement. I mean come on, 2 days before your telling me Q3 of this year? The F that you had no clue it wasn't going to drop soon.

This is a new chick, the last one we had was much, much better. Too bad... Because she is clueless when it comes to their own phones and plans.
 
The local best buy that I went to said that they have 37 incredibles ordered. He said that they are going to be receiving them all on the 29th. I went in and pre-ordered one today since the N1 isn't coming out and I had to pick a time of the day to come and pick it up. Come noon I will be a proud owner of a INC
 
Because even though he works for a phone company, he doesn't really care about the phone itself.

Just roll with it.

You guys are lucky, you have a date, and it's by the end of the week. Us Sprint people still have to wait for our Super Android phone to get a release date!

I agree some corp reps are idiots. I went to my local vzw store after work to get some accessories for the Inc. I asked about the accessories and the rep said no accessories until launch date. She then asked if I pre-ordered(yes I did) was like oh let me check the back to see what is available for sale. I got a silcone cover. That was easy and very surprised she was very friendly and said they should get different color snap on cases before launch.
 
I honestly don't think a lot of them get much advance notice and aren't trying to be shady or stupid when they say they don't know, or give wrong estimates. People who want to make a sale wouldn't say an in-demand phone's coming in Q3 if they knew otherwise, but maybe they could benefit by checking their info before dishing out inaccuracies they think might be true just to give some type of an answer. The one who checked with her manager must have had a similarly uninformed boss... which I agree is annoying.
