Cost of Thunderbolt $$$

I mean, we still don't know if there is going to be an added price for the 4G speeds (which there prolly will be).

If they are anything more then $30 per month I am out and I know many others who are out as well. It is ridiculous to pay anything more then $30 per month for phone data.

I don't understand people saying they can't afford $250 for a new phone but they are willing to pay $200. The initial cost of the phone isn't even a big deal, it's the monthly bill. If you get a 1 year contract I am sure you can sell it for $320 a year from now on ebay.

The fuss about 250 is almost all other smart phones come out at 200.

i dont mind 250 if i get unlimited data for no extra charge

Not that I want to pay more but to be fair. Droid X and Droid 2 were $199 when they came out few months ago. This is much much better phone.

Agree with Fake Jesus, I may pay $250 but there is no way in HEL* i am paying $0.01 over $30 for 4G data. Let's be real, this is just a data for one phone!!!

Yes they definitely are. But I hope it's not the damn SD card that's bringing this phone up in price more than it just being the quality phone its supposed to be

Im sure it is. Thik about it iphone 8gb cost less than the iphone 16gb. They know people want more memory. TB gives you the added memory for less, and your also geting 4g, a bigger screen, a ton of RAM, and a tip top processor. I think this phone is worth the money.

I'm sure it will be. The thing looks crazy fast. And the memory is going to be amazing. 40 gigs is almost scary.

Yeah, but you don't have the option to swap memory. So Apple has you. When you have the option, you'd like to make the decision yourself.

Plus, I don't recall a phone coming out on Verizon for over $199 (after rebates). Usually when a new phone comes out, they price it at $199 and drop the price of the current phones.

What im saying, this is the best phone Verizon has come out with. And it's not on the same level as past phones due to the fact that while other phones include 2gb cards or 16gb cards, this thing 32gigs! And it also has 4g speeds and top software. It's also more premium in terms of build quality. unibody aluminum compared to plastic. Theres a reason it cost more, and i can see why.

Each time there's a big release, it's typically a leap ahead of the previous "top dog". And Verizon has typically handled this by dropping the prices of the previous phones and releasing the new phone at the "base price threshold" of $199. If Verizon's prices continues to go up for new releases, does that mean that the Bionic is then released at a price point of $300? It has LTE too, but better specs than the TBolt (which would make it the best phone Verizon would come out with).

And if it does come out at $250, I think a predominant number of people would prefer $200 if it came with a 2 or 4GB card. To me, the card doesn't make the phone. So regardless of what is in it, it doesn't really play into my consideration of how good the phone is, and doesn't justify any price increase because it's something that is removable and can be replaced by a smaller card.

Buy the phone...sell the card for $50 on eBay and then you are at your $200 price point!

Problem solved!

Correct me if I'm wrong but no other smartphones come with a 32 gb micro SD card?

Newegg.com - micro sd 32 gb

Those are like $80!

True. But I'd rather make the decision myself. I don't need a 32GB card, I'd be just fine with a 8GB which would give me 16 total. I don't do music on my phone and limited video.

We'll see if phones now start coming with cards though.

I agree. If you don't think the $80+ card justifies the $50 price increase, sell the card for $80, buy a 2g card for $15-20, and you essentially got the phone for $185-190.

Ive got a $100 NE2 discount if I sign a 2yr. Im thinking I will do that and sell on ebay in approx 1 year to buy another phone at full price. Best option?

Here is how the cost breaks out for me:
Phone: $250

Verizon Upgrade Credit: $30
Best Buy Buyback Droid Incredible: $150
Sell the 32GB Card: $50 (I have a 16GB already)

Total cost to purchase Thunderbolt: $20
