Costco: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Costco has the ATT logo on the Note 8 offer now in case anyone is interested. I already have a preorder with sams club but use costco a lot more. Deciding it is worth $50 less in gift card and no activation credit.
 
I know you can order through bb and get the Verizon deal did it for my wife on the s8 and did it yesterday on the n8
 
pre-ordered through CostCo today. had to show the guy that they were doing Sprint pre-orders. he kept telling me no. then he checked his emails and bam! best deal for me among all the others.

got to handle the tethered phone and it was still amazing. really can't wait.

installments or outright (by paying it in full early). their setup going in is installment. same price as Sprint (without any loyalty credit), but when you add in the gift card it brings it lower than BB and way lower than Sprint. I don't care for BB so my choice is obvious. you do have to go there to pre-order and pick it up.

HELP Note 8 pre-order - Costco

I preordered from Costco. I'm on Verizon...got the email showing shipped, will be here Tues. Called Costco to see if I should come Tues or just wait till Wed. Don't mind waiting till the following day if need be. Rep said can't get it of it comes in early. Have to wait until official release day! I called Verizon, they said I can absolutely have phone-one, it was ordered through 'my Verizon', so my acct, just on Costco's behalf. Costco rep says it's their contract with Samsung that says they can't. I and Verizon rep said it's on Costco's warehouse stock that they cannot sell early, not merchandise coming from elsewhere. Not to mention there is nothing I've been able to find that doesn't say the Note 8 will be received by the 15th. And nothing saying that it can't/won't be received earlier.

Any thoughts here? I'm not waiting a week and a half because they don't have a backbone and can't see thousand of people are getting their devices from all carriers and Samsung themselves. I understand contracts very well, but I highly doubt theirs says they can't release early if others are-it's not fair business for Costco especially.

The rep at Costco told me that they would call me when it arrived even if it was early, though they said to expect it around the 14-15th. He also said I could cancel at anytime. I think if you threaten to cancel they might change their mind.
 
I've been through many pre-orders before. Although it looks pretty promising this time that tracking numbers show delivery for early this week, I have seen phones held at the FedEx facility until the last day. I would definitely wait until people have phones in their hands until I cancel.

He actually said to cancel. Said good luck ordering from Verizon now and getting it early at all if I did. Just being a d-bag! Said his Costco mgr will back him up too.

Well we'll see come Tues, because I will be armed with an internet full of people having received their phones and a Verizon rep ready and willing to tell them it's ok that they release it to me-because it was sent from Verizon to me, has my SIM card in that particular phone so no one else can use it. Have spoken to 4 VZW reps that have all said Costco is being ridiculous and to certainly call in if they are unwilling to give it to me the day it's received. Also if I cancelled since that phones being received by Costco with a SIM card/paperwork for me then I'd be on the hook for it. Not to mention VZW confirmed they've already billed my acct since it's since shipped. So if I ordered another, then I'm having to pay for 2 phones.

Curious how this turns out for you. I'm in the same boat. Here in NC I called my store since I saw my preorder had been delivered. The guy said I can't have it until the 15th, what BS! Not sure what else to do, the guy wasn't budging.

this, and a couple of other things, is why I went back to Best Buy.
