I have read multiple posts about application lag in Vibrant. In the Vibrant forums, there is a post linking to Galaxy S Stalling Issue thread over at XDA. Apparently the issue being discussed is that Vibrant is using internal SD for application data storage which is considerable slower and causes considerable lag in applications while opening and switching, and if you start using NAND for storing this application data, the lag disappears. Now I am totally ignorant what is the difference between Internal SD and NAND, since I thought there is just one big chunk 16GB memory chip inside Vibrant which has part of it reserved for user data and other part for system/application data, so how can access to one be faster than other if they are both partitions of same internal memory chip??? If you know more about the issue or difference between said Internal SD/NAND, kindly explain.
Now my concern here is that since Epic has only 1GB of ROM which is already less than Vibrant's, would this issue of lag be more prominent on Epic?? And when Froyo brings the ability to install apps to external SD card, wouldn't it make the lag times worse since external SD access times would be even worse??
