For real. Look at it. It's not ungodly big like half the phones out there, the S4 is crazy f'ing fast, and everything I hear and have seen about Sense 4 says it's *better* than stock Android.

I can't be the only person out there wanting one of these. I almost bought an Amaze, but held off. I think if I don't grab one of these I'll be making a mistake.

That is one of the reasons why I got it. I freakin' loved my N1. And although this has a lot of bloatware apps I still love it. I loved the trackball...i never used it except for the color notifications. Something I really wish the One S had (color led notifications) instead it has the smallest green blinking light. Haven't figured out how or if I can change that. But this is one good looking phone! And fast!

Played with one yesterday. Almost pulled out the CC to buy it full retail. The aluminum case feels really nice, and its ridiculously thin. Really like the camera on it too. I can't express how nice the phone feels and LOOKS.

Still don't like Sense (although it's massively improved over what used to be out there), don't like Sense colors, and I was able to notice the pixels from the pentile display. Shame they didn't use SLCD2 on this one, although they probably went SAMOLED to get thickness below 8mm. Also think that $600 is a bit much for the One S.

As nice as the One S is it seems like another one of those phones that capture most of our attention in April but reminisce about in July as we move on the next "impressive for the moment" smartphone.

Only phone that comes close to HTC One S in design is the iPhone4s but the fact that it runs iOS makes it horrible.

Slim and gray aluminum, 4 inch too small(Nexus S), 4.5 inch too big(GS2), HTC One S at 4.3 is the perfect and ideal size.

Gray color is outstanding and the " fake -curved display" seen at the sides is a good wow factor to have.

One X seems interesting but the smaller size and the fact that the One S is thinner really does make me go more towards the One S.

I'm having a hard time convincing myself on this one.

I went in to the shop to have a play with the One S and the One X last week and came out with the One S. Partly because the One X was so similar in form factor and size to my GNex and partly because they gave me a great deal on the One S off contact and unlocked.

I went for the micro arc oxidised version despite the problems that I have been reading about. So far there are no signs of any flaking.

There is no doubt that the One S is blazing fast, even with Sense dragging around it's ankles.

The overall size is just about perfect. With the capacitive buttons it means the screen is actually just about the same height as the GNex, although it is slightly narrower. I am not entirely sold on the thinness though. I actually prefer to have a bit more to hold on to. A little extra weight and thickness would make it more comfortable in the hand.

First thing I did was to unlock the bootloader via HTCdev.

I've been running it stock, although I have also loaded up Apex launcher so that I have the choice of Sense and a more stock ICS feel.

So why do I have a problem with it? Well firstly, I keep getting random reboots. I haven't really been able to identify any real pattern to them, although it has done it at least twice whilst watching Youtube media. I've also had the issue with wifi dropping out and refusing to reconnect. I am also still not convinced by Sense. Some of the apps, like mail, are better than stock ICS, but a lot of the others are still too over designed for my tastes.

I will hang on to it for now, although I am still using my GNex as my daily driver. Maybe as we see more development over at XDA I'll learn to love it just that little bit more.

I couldnt agree more. its an amazing device for sure. the curves are perfect...couldn't wait to pick mine up at launch. Once I held the dummy unit last week I was psyched. the camera is the best I've used on a phone ever.

The Arc S would be my second choice. Either our tastes are very similar, or both phones really are that sexy

I use an iPhone 4S as my work phone, and just got a One S as my personal phone and there's no comparison. The iPhone literally feels like a brick in the hand since it has the sharp corners.

Everything from the looks to the physical feel to the software is much more smooth on the One S. I've only had it three days but I loooove it.
