"Couldn't get IP address" ?

Why can I connect just fine to my Wi-Fi with my old phone. But with this Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus I get the error "Couldn't get IP address"?

How do I fix this?

I just solved it. I found the answer buried in another thread. I'd like to gone credit where credit is due, but I can't locate it again

I'm trying to connect to an extender. All I had to do was "forget" the original SSID and the Extender connected flawlessly. I'm so happy!
