Couple of issues with Marshmallow

Hi,

Overall I like the new Marshmallow update, but I have noticed a couple of issues i'm looking for help with:

1.) How do you change the SMS alert tone. I have modified it in the app settings (Hangouts -> Settings -> SMS -> Notifications -> Sound) to an alert of my choice and it does not seem to have made a difference, it's still playing the default Hangouts alert sound.

2.) Is gmail really exempt from Doze (when Battery Optimization is turned off), as I don't seem to receive any email alerts if I don't move my phone and doze kicks in. I seem to have read differing opinions on this, some sites say you will always receive instant email alerts, others say you don't.

I've noticed that for some reason I can't send or receive MMS messages if I'm connected to wifi which is weird to say the least.

Hi,
I had the same issue with my HTC one M8 after upgrade to Marshmallow.
Assume that the 'tone' you wish to use is one of your own...
Problem is the new "permissions" you have to allow messaging permission to access your files;
Got to;
- Settings; Apps, Messages, Permissions, then slide the "storage" to green..

You should then be able to select the tome of your choice.
