Cover display question.

My YouTube video watching would say that you can set it either way. It supports several AOD presets ar you can, presumably to save battery and to be discreet, make it so it's off until you tap it.

From the videos I've seen, it's only a 'tap to wake' screen. And if it's the same as previous Flips, unfortunately, the front screen cannot be used as AOD, just the inner screen if you leave the phone unfolded.

It seems ridiculous to not have AOD as an option for the outer display.

I suggest you refer to any of the videos demonstarting the ALWAYS ON DISPLAY on the OUTER SCREEN of the Flip 3. Here's one Always On Display

Oddly the forum SW won;t let me post a link to an exact time on the YouTube video, but Go To 1:05 and he shows the Always On Display and options

I also saw an external AOD in this video: https://youtu.be/lNvOt04MEps. If you look carefully, you can see a clock on the external display, even when the phone isn't in use.

Just heard back from Flossy. He says the ext display is AOD.

Sweet! So they did change it for this year's model! That (besides the tiny size) was also one of the complaints from the previous ones.
PS: Sorry, I can't stand Flossy's 'violent' audio so tend to stay away from his videos haha But nice that he confirmed it!

Yep seems AOD is supported on the outer display. Other videos showing double taps to active it probably just didn't change the settings to always show.

It will be interesting to see what effect AoD might have on the battery, since the small battery seems to be one of the issues with the Flip3.

Well, I'll just have to carry a juicer with me. It's not a big deal since I've a car charger. At any rate, I took the plunge and pre-ordered the phone.
