Cracked s-pen

[Gray Area]

So, I dropped my note 5 from about 3 feet (off the bathroom sink) it lands on its side, I have a tpu case so it just bounces a little and lands safely. However the s-pen pops out like they have always done on all notes when dropped and now I have a little Crack which is confusing because it was not a big drop. The phone landed on the opposite side of where the s-pen is housed and when it popped out it barely hit anything.

Once, I was talking to a friend with my S Pen in my hand, and I launched the pen about 10 ft into the air, and about 15 ft out (I was "talking with my hands!"). My pen landed on the road and not a scratch was on it! Lucky!

Gee, with the Note 5 clickers breaking, and now this, I have to believe Samsung really cheaped out on the pen! Sad!

I need to contact Samsung, I hope it's under warranty.

I would think it would be... it has to be a manufacturing defect.

Well Samsung will not replace it since it's the result of a drop! And it's not for sale anywhere so I have to contact the accessories dept when they open and see how much it costs.

Update : the pen is barely working now.

Went back to best buy where I purchased the phone and they won't replace the s-pen either.

Sprint won't do anything and gave me the insurance information. I called the insurance and they seem to be trying to do a full blown phone replacement which is a $200 deductible so forget it! Went on ebay and got a $20 replacement.

Ouch. Hopefully Samsung will release some new S-Pens for purchase and you can just replace it for $20-40.

I feel your pain Brotha!!! Stuff like this makes me realize why ppl like apple more..i called for a spen they told me they dont even have a estimated time of when they will have the spens i stock to sell... it baffles me how they can do a full launch on a product and not have accessories to sell..especially one that is a actual part of the phone...then i called again yesterday and the rep is actually there like questioning me trying to me me feel dumb for them not having stuff to sell... uhh irritating to say the least..plus i dont trust that stuff off ebay or amazon..how they gonna have "ORIGINAL" spen if samsung itself dont got them in stock...fishy to say the least.specially paying 40 bucks for a knock off..

It's not a knock off btw, but clearly the issue here is that this current S pen is cheaply/poorly made and they aren't durable enough for consistent use...and apparently can't withstand a drop of the phone....I'd take it to the carrier and see if they can replace it for you....if not buy another...good luck
