Brand-new S Pen will not turn on or connect

[Android Central Question]

I purchased a Samsung S Pen Galaxy Tab S6 with the intention of using it for my new Samsung Galaxy Book Flex Alpha since the Alpha doesn't come with a stylus. I thought this pen would work, but now I'm not so sure, and I have no way of knowing because I cannot get the pen to turn on. I've been holding down the button, but no lights come on, and the pen will not connect to Bluetooth on my laptop. Is this the right pen, or do I need another? Is my pen defective, or am I doing something wrong? I can't find hardly any info about the pen itself, let alone proper troubleshooting steps, and with this laptop being so new, there is little info about it as well. Any help would be appreciated, as this is frustrating.

Not sure the spen from tab 6 can work with book flex alpha

Welcome to Android Central! Are you sure the S Pen is charged up? The one for the Tab S6 is supposed to charge when it's magnetically attached to the back of the tablet. From what I read, the Galaxy Book should have wireless charging built into the trackpad, so try placing the S Pen on the trackpad and leave it there for 30-60 minutes. Then see if it works.
