So I was home alone, no kids, no wife, no one wanting to use my phone to play games... nothing!!!
I decide to cook some pork chops (chuletas). I grab the frying pan, put it on the stove.
I open the cabinet to grab the anti stick Pam can.... and...??? of course it slips from my hand and lands on my precious Nexus 6p.
RAGE ACTIVATED!!!! pam and pan go flying... chinese food from the day before goes flying!!!
I was so pissed off cause I had a case on it and my kids weren't there to blame. No screen protector either (I think it makes the phone ugly).
So I look on ebay and the less expensive screen goes for $50 from hong kong and the USA ones go for aprox. $150 and im guessing they're both the same screen. I call Huawei and they say they can repair it for $195. PHUUUUK!!!
So ofcourse I watch youtube videos on repairing the phone myself and decide "I don't want to break the camera cyclops glass so let me just go the Huawei route and not void my warranty.

March 11 2:40pm - Paid $195
March 14 1:43pm - Contacted Huawei via 1-888 # (they have no idea why I haven't gotten the shipping label email yet)
March 14 4:52pm - Contact huawei via twitter (they say there was an issue that prevented shipping label email from being sent, but got it fixed)
March 15 10:46am - receive shipping label email
March 15 2:59pm - dropped off at UPS store (2nd day air)

Update
March 16 11:41am - received at repair center

Final Update
March 25 3:00pm - I finally received my phone with a perfect looking screen!!!

I live in Texas and their repair center is 5 hours away (in Texas) so hopefully it wont be long.
Thanks for reading

I have square trade and they cover repairs from local repair shops. How did you find out about the Huawei local repair center? Did you contact them directly?

Oh man!! Keep us posted on the outcome. Why no insurance? Just curious.
Because deductible + premium is probably about the same price as fixing a screen. If you're like the op (or me) and don't break phones often it's quite a bit cheaper to skip insurance.

Yeah, I'm usually super careful with my phone's and don't get insurance either but I purchased Nexus protect with the 6P so I guess I'm a smidge more carefree now

AAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!
Cracked my 6P screen today. Just above down volume button on upper edge of glass. Just missed the metal frame. Slid off tool bag and found rock. 40 acres and only one rock. Dang.
Purchased Nexus Protect in November. Whew.
I suddenly remembered Janice Joplin singing 'Take another piece of my heart' for a moment.

Happy for your repair with good results

Are you going to file a claim with nexus protect for a replacement device???

Absolutely. Still works and not a ding in the metal frame. Messes with touch sensitivity in a few places.

Nexus Protect all the way. 1st time in 30 years I bought extended protection. Yah.

Great, at least you can get a fast replacement. I haven't had to use Nexus protect yet but am curious on how the process goes, keep us posted.
