Create calendar event from email?

Hi, I'd like to create calendar events straight from my emails. Is there a way to do this? My old BlackBerry could create calendar tasks and events and even attach the email as reference. That's what I'd like this to do.

Any apps will so this?

Thanks

No I don't have any add to calendar option, nor is the date and time in the email event underlined or highlighted indicating the ability to add it to my calendar.

I've noticed that I don't have the ability to select dates in Gmail. However the same email in the native email app on my iPhone is underlined and I can create an event from it. Who knew....? I can however create an event from Gmail on the Web but not on my phone.

I have tried to figure it out and it does not seem to work on the mobile side. I thought maybe that I had to have Google Now activated but it still did not work. It could be they are still working on the mobile version.

It's hit or miss. For example, I have a flight to Orlando in June then back home 1 week later. After purchasing the tickets itineraries were emailed to me. My calendar (I use the Google Calendar) pulled all my flight information for my flight to Orlando with all the details like time, flight #, etc. and created an event in my Calendar, but it never pulled anything for my flight back home. I don't know if that's on Gmail's side or the Calendar side. I do have the "pull events from Gmail" selected in calendar but why it would grab one and not the other is really strange. Not a very good feature when it only works 50% of the time. I'm of the mindset that it either needs to work or take it out and I'll do it manually. If I have to constantly check to see if events were put in my calendar I might as well just do it myself.

It also doesn't seem to work when I get an email from one of my suppliers about a meeting date. Once in a while my calendar will create an event but normally it won't. Not sure if it has to be in a certain format or what it is but for me it is not very reliable.

They are probably still trying to work out the kinks in it or something. I tried to get it to work this morning and it didn't work. I enabled my Google Now, I installed Inbox, I installed Google Calendar. It still did automatically add them, it would let me do it from the webpage on my computer though.

As others have said, I know that Google wants to add something like this. As a workaround, you can select the text in the Gmail message (long press in the body to start selection) and hit the copy icon that is exposed in the toolbar of Gmail. Then start the Google Calendar app, create a new event, and paste the text in the top box. Google Cal is pretty good about parsing the details from the text. If not, there is are a couple of apps (called Quick Event and Quick Add) in the Play Store that can create calendar events from parsing natural language (e.g., "Meeting with John Monday at 2pm at 123 Main St, Anytown").

By the way, I did check to see if the Gmail mobile web site in Chrome would expose this - it didn't for any emails I looked at.
