Phone is a Samsung 10. I regularly transfer files, almost always media from my phone to a Samba Network Server on my home network. Process as follows.

Tap on my files, select internal storage, select downloads. Okay probably can't do anything here but it us the set of steps that would great to cut down.

Select file(s) to transfer, tap on move/copy, tap on Folders icon select Network storage, select drive, select volume, (Samba issue), select directory or subdirectory, tap move/copy here.

If possible, probably not, it would be good to select files to transfer and then a shortcut that took you directly to the directory tree on the network drive.

Any thoughts?

You might be able to use a different file manager for that. I have Solid Explorer, it's a paid app but it's worked well for me going in the other direction (from my NAS to my tablet). I'd have to try it and see if it "holds" the previous path that was copied, especially in regards to copying TO the NAS.

Some other members have other file apps they prefer, some may be free. One I will NOT recommend is ES File Explorer...
