Hi, I am considering Payment Max for Nexus 7 since they seem to have used the SEO too much and keep popping up everywhere when you search for Nexus 7 and credit card read. I am not sure about Payment Max, since I have read a few bad reviews.

Does anyone have recommendations for other credit card reader apps which are compatible with Nexus 7 ?

thanks,
BV

None work that I am aware of. Well, the apps can work (you have to sideload them, as they are marked as not compatible), but the card swipers do not. The swipers require a headphone jack that supports microphone input, which the Nexus 7 does not have. The hardware just does not support swipers that plug into the headphone jack, which is most or all of them to my knowledge. This was a major frustration for me with the N7.

ok I get it, so the card swipers are of of use if they need a headphone jack, which the 7 does not have. But I could download the apps and manually enter the credit card info, ok will look into that.

The only other option would be a Bluetooth based card reader. Most of those require a merchant account.

It would be great if Square or PayPal Here had a Bluetooth option, since their readers require mic input, but at least those still can be entered manually.
