Crying Wolf over 1x/LTE Outage

I border a 4G area, so not seeing 4G lit up on my phone isn't anything new. But when I woke up and saw 1x I thought immediately something might be up cause thats what it did last time. Rebooted..still the same.."eh whatever", I carried on.

I have a 45 minute commute...data brings me lots of Pandora love, Podcast love, all that love. Makes my commute bearable, hell even enjoyable sometimes. I was kinda bummed to be without it yesterday morning but I wasn't really angry. I figured it would pass quickly, like last time. It didn't and I didn't get to check Twitter and Facebook or all that other borderline meaningless crap I do all day on my phone. But the world did not end.

The evening commute came and still no 3G; crap another long drive. Owell back to the FM. So here we are 24 hours later, honestly its nowhere near the end of the world. Not even close enough for me to call and complain.

However when I think of all the times Verizon has nickel and dimed me for this overage or that overage or how much they charge for the minuscule amount of data SMS uses and I think to myself.....eff these guys. When we mess up or go over or whatever...they don't miss a beat and charge us dearly. However when they mess up we are to take it as a product of being an early adopter? Pick up? Get over it? Get used to it? Thats new Technology? Not the end of the world?

I'm not enraged nor bothered "enough", however I don't think that people should be ridiculed for being upset. I do not think we should be complacent when a service we pay for fails. Do I think we should storm Verizon with fire and pitch forks...no, but I definitely don't think we should defend them either. Cell service is expensive and I don't pay it to be a guinea pig for Verizon.

One thing I have always hated about the forums is how a given thread can get 5-15+ pages long and when you read through it, the conversation goes way off topic. While I agree with most of what the OP is saying, I can still see a reason to start new threads on the same topic because of that off topic straying that often happens in large threads.
