Hi I have an international rooted Galaxy S-III i9305, bought it in June . The charging has been unstable, as in sometimes it would charge up just fine while sometimes it even discharges when charging. I went to the Samsung service center and they gave me a new charger without checking my phone. The problem persists. I borrowed another charger from a friend and the same thing happens. I bought a new port connector and same results ..

I came across an app in the XDA forum, Galaxy Charging Current. Tested it to realise that it's the phone problem it should show 1000ma but it show 1000ma sometimes and 500ma sometimes and 100ma sometimes ... , I had to keep reconnecting the charger to obtain an efficient charge and its not stable it change :\ :'( im really tired i hope you can help me .. I tryed to change my android version (4,4,4) and i flashed unofficial cm12 but no way

The phone is limited (by the way it's designed) to how much current it can draw from the charger. If it's using more than that (you're running a lot of apps, you have a weak cell signal), that current is being used to run the phone, and some current is being drawn from the battery to run the phone, not just not leaving anything to charge the battery, but resulting in the battery discharging with the charger plugged in.

It can be due to a battery that's going bad (an S3 isn't new - if you've been mistreating the battery it could be about shot by now) or just having to use more current than the phone can draw from the charger. (A larger charger won't change anything - it's the circuit in the phone that limits the charging current.)

That could be due to one of two things:

1. Samsung uses a short on two of the pins (the data pins) to indicate that the phone is charging from a portable charger, not from the USB port of a computer. If that circuit is bad in the phone, it's going to pick up that short some of the time. Since it's on the data pins, see if the phone maintains a connection to a computer (to see the files in the phone, etc.) If that's intermittent too, that's the problem.

2. One of the charging pins could be loose. If moving the cable changes the amount of charge, that's the problem.

In either case, replacing the charging port usually fixes it.

First thank you
-when i move the cable nothing change so i dont think that one of the charging pinspins is loosed
-i didnt understand exactly what should i do ( my english is very poor )

look, charging any cell phone does not have anything to do with any app.if u have any problem charging, like i did..it would show charging but 2 hours later it didnt charge.sometimes your phone freezes.shut it off and turn back on,or take battery out and put back in.some phones get a little warm..if that doesnt help, than your battery bad or the charging port.now n days all phones are set up to handle to charger.be careful when you pull chargere out of phone.dont pull the cord.pull from the actual end.if not,you can loosin wires inside of charger.

also, wait until your phones is in the red zone before charging, you can half way charge, and always unplug your charger from the wall when finished..once your phone comes to a complete charge, take it off..the longer it stays on,the more it will pull charge right back out of it..hope this helps
