Current Nexus 4 Shipping Times

Of course we whine, getting a Nexus 4 is like having a baby.

If it were to come late you'd be so anxious it could kill you!

I've heard them hold your money for up to 2 weeks. They take your money and hold it, don't deliver the product, then when they finally decide to deliver it they slap you with a 2-day shipping charge!! Amazing. It's like giving them 2 week loan with no interest. Also the fact that google intentionally limited the supply of the phone then turns around and charges a 2 days shipping fee on something that takes up to 4 weeks to get delivered---all of this should be investigated! How can anyone justify this? Not only do they screw you on the 2 day shipping but they also screw you by taking your money out of your account right then and then making you wait 3 weeks to get the phone. Why are so many people on here complacent and defensive of policies which are clearly wrong? Defending these sorts of behaviors won't get you browny points with the boss-- I smell a corporate troll job.

I can clearly tell people's political affiliation just by their tone of writing. Wanting to progress and make policies and experiences better for customers should be what we all advocate for, instead of taking the pro corporate defensive stance.

I would just drive to Concord if it was possible.

Here is a recap/update to my 8B US order. Let me preface this by saying that I have a certain amount of my paycheck routed to a different account for personal use.

Ordered the 22nd of Feb

The "hold" charge was place on my account, and Google sent conf they received the order.

Today I receive email stating the order has been declined. The account I used only had a couple hundred in it, because the "hold" charge was still there.

Called Google and they (very rudely) told me they have nothing to do with that and to call the bank.

Called bank, and they say they only remove pending charges after a set period of time. If a merchant does not act on it, they will reverse it.

Called Google back, and was very rudely asked why I didn't have enough money to cover the charge. I explained why, and the rep told me that it's going to continue to decline until I have sufficient funds. I told her to authorize the pending charge and it ill be fine. Also, I only bought one phone, why do I need to have the $$$ for two? She said she needs to forward it to someone else and get back to me via email

A few hours later I check my balance, and the pending charge is gone. I resubmit on Wallet and it goes through. She never contacted me.

Called Google again, and verified that the order went though. It did, but I still have no tracking number. It just says " Mar 1 You successfully updated your payment for this order to MASTERCARD xxx-XXXX"

Serious. I could tell these folks were lost when I called. They had no idea how to handle a complaint, and wanted me off the phone as fast as they could. This very well may be the last Google device I buy straight from them.

This is almost EXACTLY what I went through. I had the money in the account thought. Way over the amount in fact. They said the "bank" declined the charge. I called my bank, the bank said they had no clue where Google got that from. I looked at my bank statement and there were ZERO declined charges. I went back and fourth over 4 times with google. The last time I heard the account was in the "chargeable" state. The guy at google told me this means the phone WILL BE CHARGED it is just waiting on a "shipping/transit number". The estimated arrival date is still March 7th. All of the people I talked to however were extremely friendly but I ended up getting 4 different answers from 4 different people. Now I wait. March 7th is coming up and I have a feeling I still won't get the phone, something else will probably go wrong. AT that time I'm just going to look for a different phone.

I don't see how specifically stating a 2-3 week delivery time then charging you to ship it 2nd day is immoral. I have spent the entire time since I ordered HOPING it would ship sooner but the 2-day shipping was never the issue. Mine was projected to ship March 7 and shipped March 1. That makes me happy.
3 likes on that comment is amazing. Corporate America will continue to deceive and screw customers as long as types like you "suck up" to their misleading and deceitful sales practices.

Mine shipped out of Louisville, KY.

I assumed they all shipped from Cali to distribution centers throughout the country and then re-distributed regionally from there, but if that is not the case I am even more aggravated......

@Jboy79 - Quit acting like Google is the only company that does this. If you order a backordered product with 2 day shipping from any company then the 2 day shipping charge is perfectly legitimate. It's not just Google that does this. Every major company does this. It's perfectly legal and does not violate any US or Canadian laws.

I'm from Ireland so maybe credit cards work differently here. Here what happens is a merchant checks to see if there is enough money on the card to process the order. They do not take it, but it is held in the account by the credit card company. The company has a certain amount of time to turn this authorisation into a sale. If they don't the money goes back into the available funds. If they do it is processed as a full transaction and the company (google in this case) gets the money.

You do not give Google a 2 week loan, they only get the money once the authorisation turns into a sale. I'm amazed at how quick people are threaten legal action over delayed phones. Also, how the concept of 2 day shipping means 2 days once shipped is lost on people.
