Somehow my system updated itself during my failed attempts to SBF. So I could manually dl the ota and be at a current OTA state. I happened to go and check what my current values were and ran into everything being current. This was after an unroot, factory reset, and re-rooting. Then flashing jrummys rom. Everything is stable. Well, except for the browser. I DL'D 3rd party browsers to see if it would help but...nope. I'm extremely curious to find out how my system is current when I didn't actually do anything... completely confused here. Any suggestions would be great...

Well, technically your system version is not up to par... current system version is at 2.3.340, youre still at .320... But the only difference, which someone correct me if im wrong, is small software and the addition to the football thing.

Your baseband (the telephone radio) is also out of date. Here is a link that has files to get you completely up to date. You can download them one at a time to your phone and run them from reboot recovery. I did this two days ago and it was a piece of cake. I just started at the second file (my bootloader was already up to date), and went down the list, one file at a time.

TBH Patches: 2.3.340-System, Baseband, 2.3.340-Kernel, Bootloader

i just dl'd and installed your provided updates...now i cant get myself out of bootloader. can you help me out? all the updates installed smoothly and i did wipe data and cache

bootloader
30.04
err:A5,70,00,00,23

battery ok
ok to program
connect usd data cable

I'm doing some research...trying to find something I remember reading.

In the mean time, I'd try 4 or 5 battery pulls on your X. I do know this has gotten people out of problems before.

Sounds good. thanks for the support. let me know as soon as you find out. good thing im at work and have access to AC. although i cant DL anything here and dont have a USB cable

I think you're going to have use RSDLite to flash the .320 full sbf (http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/droid-x-discussion/5633-droid-x-2-3-32-full-sbf.html)

Then, if it were my phone, I'd still re-run that .340 update that got you stuck where you are, just to have the latest kernel.

The bad news is, your going to have to find a way to download that sbf (and RSDLite 4.8 or higher if you don't have that) on to a pc at work, or wait til you get home...that would blow.

I feel your pain...we're all linked at the hip to these devices.

If you can't download the sbf until tonight, poke around on the mydroidworld forum. It's loaded with flashing/recovering info. Looking through the thread where you originally downloaded the files this morning may turn up some that also got stuck at the bootloader.

You should shut your phone down until you get the sbf. You don't want to drain your battery because it wont charge up in the state your currently in.

im gonna go and buy another X for my wife today. do you think its a good idea to just have them take care of it at the vzw store? have them get it all back in order? i dont think they'll be able to tell that its rooted. And if so, i get my device and gladly leave :)

the X wont do a single thing other than load the bootloader so i dont think anybody at the store will be able to do anything but do a system wipe and get me back to stock. i have z4root on my sd so i can take care of rooting right away

Another thought...

When you do a battery pull, do you reboot into the recovery screen, or just straight to your bootlaoder error screen? If you reboot into recovery, I'd try selecting factory reset. If you always boot into the bootloader error screen, you could try:

-Turn off your phone.
-Hold the home button
-Keep holding Home, and hold power until the Moto logo comes on. You can
release power, but keep holding home.

If that gets you to the recovery screen, select factory reset.

Yeah, if you're going in anyway, you could hand them the phone and say, "This is all it does. Started this morning. What should I do?" They'll probably just replace it.

i think thats the best route... let them deal with it! thanks for the tips. I'll report back later to let you know how it went:cool:

I had the same issue. It would boot into bootloader and no matter how many times i tried to get the bootloader to take, it would not work. I finally found the right SBF file and it worked. Sicario, are you still having issues with getting it to see the device with rsd?

i dont think ill have any more touble, providing that the phone needs to be in the bootloader to be recognized. now i just need the right SBF file and Ill be a happy camper:D

DL links are very much welcomed!

im stuck on 320... i need the 340sbf

There is no full sbf for .340 at this time. The way you get to it is by installing the full .320 sbf (from that link) and then running the .340 update file. I know that's the file that put you in this state, but I think if you flash the full .320, all you files will be current except for a few system files that make up the .340 update, so that update will go smoothly. This is exactly what the dude from the other thread (http://forum.androidcentral.com/motorola-x-roms-hacks/48296-bricked-help.html) about a bricked phone (also stuck in bootoader) ended up doing today to get his back up.
