Current Pixel 2 thinking about the Xl

For me, the closer a display is to 6" the better. With smaller or no bezels the phones are not as big as they used to be when going for a larger display. I'm petite, but have no trouble using my Pixel 2 XL.

Sold the regular Pixel 2 on swappa for $500 In 3 minutes ordering XL

Pixel 2 XL. I feel the pain of those who have had problems, but suspect they are a minority and my XL is the best phone I've ever used (and I get the chance to use loads).

Bigger screen + bigger battery on the 2 XL = definitely. And the penguin color makes it so much more better.

I just went back to a 2XL. I wanted the bigger screen. I did like how easy the pixel 2 was to hold and use but I have no troubles using/handling my 2XL.
My pixel 2 had terrible black crushing. I'd say it was a little worse than my 2XL.
Sold my p2 in a day on ebay. So anyways enjoy.
I am.

Good to know that these phones have awesome resale value! I mean, I kind of figured that they would, but seeing actual proof of that from users here is great!

A bigger battery on a larger phone has as much to do with battery life as a larger gas tank has to do with gas mileage.

The larger screen with higher resolution on the XL uses more power than the smaller and lower resolution screen on the Pixel 2. In reviews, they both last a day of moderate use.

The smaller Pixel 2 is the perfect phone, imho, but the black crush is just killer. I chose not to keep it even as a back up phone. I can't believe Google hasn't done anything to fix it. The P2XL is slightly too large for my comfort but I still love it and don't have difficulty using it.

I do notice battery drain at idle much more than my iPhone X. I've disabled almost all of my apps from running in the background. Could also be due to immersive mode adb command I ran (ran the updated one that apparently fixes battery drain) I may go back to default and use an app instead.

Just received my XL and the blue tint is unacceptable, unfortunately it's going back.

Actually, no. AMOLED screens use less energy because not all the pixels are on all the time.

I have had the same predicament, but ultimately, I really love my Kinda Blue Pixel 2.
It's nice to be able to use a phone one handed and not have a trade off by plumping for the smaller deice for a change. Cough, Apple.

Except for the obvious larger screen haha.
I am going to stick with my 2 for a little longer as I personally prefer the feel in hand and also the screen is likely going to be better than what I find in an XL.

Also, dat blue. :D

As others have said, try the XL, see if you like the device/size and then make a decision.

I went with the XL, but this year, if the standard Pixel 3 is larger than 5", I'll probably get that.

I think 5.5" is my ideal screen size.

That's so weird I just got my XL2 and no blue shift. They should probably do more strict QC on these things before they send them out
