Custom email client issue

Hi,
I am having this issue that the custom email app doesn't show new emails automatically longer since the past few days, and I have to manually press the refresh button to see the new emails. Also having the Outlook app and it seldom shows new emails on the notification bar.
Running custom JB 4.2.2.

Anyone know why its behaving like this?
