[Custom Recovery] Xionia Clockwork (CWMA v1.2518.6)

This may be a dumb question, but does this recovery only support gingerbread roms? I'm getting error "E:Wrong digest:Meta-INF/com/google/android/update-script E:signature verification failed Installation aborted." When trying to flash a rom. It's a 2.2 based rom.

If you modded anything in the ROM you are trying to flash, you need to sign it before flashing. That is why you would get that error.

I'm so lost right now, I don't think it's working. Root folder on the sd card? I'm feeling dumber and dumber as I go lol

the root folder of sd card: after you mount the sd card to the computer (drag notification bar down you will see the "USB CONNECTED"- select to copy files to/from your computer, you should be able to open drive (could be F:/ H:/ or any other drive letter) What ever drive letter it is, is the root of the sd card Like C:/ is the root of your hard drive when you open "computer" or "my computer"

OHH so basically just send it to my sd card?

Update: Apparently my phone isn't rooted. I don't understand why, the gingerbreak worked earlier, so now I'm attempting to root again

.6 helped

seems my sd card is being read faster.. or so sd tools says.

Thanks!

(upgraded from .4 which was bundled on Rodimus v1.2.3 rom)

I have the files downloaded, but I don't understand when u say TO THE ROOT OF YOUR SD CARD and I don't know where to open the command prompt.

Need one help on one last step and Many, Many Thanks

Many thanks to Zefie, drewwalton, and all who assisted in putting this documentation together.
I am a retiree who took this on mostly out of curiosity and who happened to have an extra LG Optimus laying around.
I have actually done this twice on the same phone which leads me to my current situation:

The first time after using z4root to root the phone and then installing Xionia Clockwork Recovery, I went ahead and used the LG Mobile Support Tool to update the phone to LS670ZVD.

Something has changed because doing this left me with an unrooted phone.

So, now I have gone through the whole procedure again and have a rooted phone with LS670ZV9.

My Question: How do I stop the System Update Notification prompts?

Thanks again. It's been fun in an S&M sort of way.

You need to fix this problem first. There is no flash_image file on your /sdcard thus you just created a 0 length file for /system/bin/flash_image

Thank you!!! This is such a key point. For anyone who tried to flash the recovery without extracting the flash_img, this seems to be the problem. And deleting it and then doing the whole flashing script, as you say, does the trick. One further tip... I had to use Root Explorer and set permissions to allow deleting from the system directory.

I attempted to flash this recovery and am having a problem. I did all the adb commands one by one without a problem. It did give me the "failed on '/system/etc/install-recovery.sh' - No such file or directory" error but I continued as instructed to do so. When the phone rebooted, it went to screen with blue letters that read as follows:

Android system recovery <3e>
Android system recovery utility

reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

Right below it reads like this in yellow:

Android system recovery...
Do not pullout the battery!!
Finding update package...
E:Can't find command file CACHE:recovery/command
Installation aborted, no valid image in CACHE.

If I choose reboot system now, it will show me a screen with a small android below a big white triangle with a yellow exclamation mark inside it.

What did I do wrong? Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance.

This is similar to what I've got going on. I DID NOT get the error (failed on '/system/etc/install-recovery.sh' - No such file or directory) that is a good thing, and I don't have the extra menu options after I've run all the commands.

I have a rooted Optimus s running android 2.2.2 and sw version LS670ZVD.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't plan on doing anything too crazy, so I don't have to have a backup this instant, but it might be a good thing to have around eventually.

Thanks in advance.
