Rom Manager doesnt support our phone. Xionia is JUST a recovery tool. RomManager app actually will search for a recovery tool to install automated for you. Same thing with the actual ROMs. Its nice if your phone is supported :)

Ok, I follow the steps exactly...and everything seems to go perfectly...but when I try to boot into CWMA...I only get the regular stock Recovery Console. I'm so close...I can feel it...I know it's something small that I'm doing wrong.

Just to be sure...the two files that need to reside at the root of my SD Card...which ones should they be and which ones should be extracted and which ones should not?

Also, when I do the Volume Down+Menu+Power combo and release at the LG Splashscreen...shouldn't that boot in to CWMA?

Thanks for your help!!!

BJ-

when it shows the $ this is where you type su

(check your phone also at this time, if your rooted *should have superuser installed already*, it may ask for permission, always allow) If it prompt says permission denied, then you dont have superuser installed or you are not rooted.

You want to extract the files (both) directly to your sd card (make sure sd card is mounted on the computer-drag finger down from the top part of your phone screen (notification bar), you will see where it says usb connected -select to copy files to/from your computer-select this then turn on usb storage)

Turn off usb storage after files are extracted to the sd card, otherwise you will get "no such file or directory" starting at cat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image

/sdcard/flash_image

It keeps telling me this directory doesn't exist and now it tells me theres nothing there using Astro but I see the data when i put in my USB to my computer. Why the heck is my stuff no longer in /sdcard?

jcwxguy/johndevere,

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem was that after I copied the files to the root of the SD Card, I DID NOT turn off USB Storage...that is what was screwing me over.

Once I turned that off, I connected w/ ADB Shell, ran the commands and MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I a having the same problem:'(

Note:
If you receive this error:
failed on '/system/etc/install-recovery.sh' - No such file or directory
Then ignore it and keep going, it means the file is already backed up or deleted, and your recovery will not be erased by LG.

Key combo to boot custom recovery from powered off is Volume Down + Home + Power and release keys at LG splash.

Is there any reason to worry if you do NOT get the error message?

Okay this is strange to me. Since flashing this over, now my wifi doesnt work and my sdcard isnt mounting correctly. I can boot to recovery, but cannot recover as the phone doesnt want to read the card

Alright, I took the sd card out and rebooted. Let everything open up and wifi loaded, then inserted the card. It then mounted. Not even sure if it was related to custom recovery or not.
