Custom Rom / S Pen

I've seen numerous articles with conflicting answers so I figured I would just ask to be sure. I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 and like my GS4 I want to put Cyanogenmod on it. I understand a lot of the functionality on the note will no longer work unless I go back to a Stock / custom stock Rom.

I just want to know if the S Pen will work as a stylus minus all the features built into the Rom. I've tried using the s pen on my GS4 and no luck. So I am just wondering if I flash a custom Rom do I loose the s pen functionality all together or just the special features of the pen?

The pen is based on the conductive screen used in the Note series.

It won't work. the S4 doesnt have a conductive screen, therefore won't work.
