Customer reviews of the Note 8

Re: Note 8 reviews

I don't get the size issues - the phone is taller than my Note 4, but is not as wide. Personally I would prefer the phone to be taller and as wide as my Note 4. Then again I have big hands.

I have played side by side with a Note 8 and S8+. For me the Note 8 felt better - I like that it is wider than the Note 8.

Re: Note 8 reviews

To be honest, my note8 feels better and more comfortable in my hands than my note 5 does.

I just got mine and charged it but haven't activated it yet due to cases not arriving yet and proximity of small grandchildren. But I held it, and I have tiny hands and I didn't think it was so big it was a problem. I didn't have that much trouble reaching the fingerprint sensor either. It feels really good in the hand, and the gray is beautiful. Come on, where are those cases? I will probably wait till the kids are in preschool and school tomorrow and activate then case or no case.

Re: Note 8 reviews

Wow they wasn't kidding about the note8 having a bright beautiful display. I got it set on auto brightness and still bright. Lol. Love it.

Noticed this site works better on my note8 than it did on my note5. Lol.

So I received my Note 8 today and it is a amazing phone all in all. Very smooth and super Snappy throughout the phone, overall I'm very happy with the purchase after owning all of Sammy's flagships the past 4 yrs as well. However there's one thing that's killing me with my N8 and for some reason it's only happening in one place on the phone, the Gallery has A LOT of trouble with lag while scrolling. It keeps glitching on me and not scrolling properly. Every time I scroll in the app it hiccups, The scrolling is fine everywhere else but right when I go into the gallery it's all down hill. Anyone else having this problem with their phone?? (N8 Verizon)

If you have any questions about the N8, let me know and I'll be more than willing to answer them for you since I have had it in my hand for more than 12 hrs now.

If you have Samsung cloud settings set on "on" with the gallery.....this will happen. That is not lag, it's actually loading or adding any of your old pics from Samsung cloud.

I received my Note 8 yesterday early afternoon. I didn't have a whole lot of time to uplay with it, but it is really an awesome smartphone. I'm coming from the iPhone 7 Plus and that was a beast of a smartphone. So far I love how fast the phone is. And as someone who has had every Note device, I have to say that the S-pen is better than ever. Really enjoy using it. I'm so glad I decided to get the Note this year.

Very fast. It's been within arm's reach since delivery early yesterday afternoon. Cat woke me up a half-hour ago so I made coffee since it seems I'm up for the day. "Smooth"; I'd characterize its motions/operation as smooth or very fluid. It's nuanced as I also have the S8 Plus and the Note8 covers some of the same ground. I drew a dragon-like figure (no, I'll not post that) in a message I sent to my daughter and she liked that while not being able to see the animation in-progress.

Coming from an S7 Edge, I can say I LOVE this thing! It is incredibly smooth, responsive & beautiful. for the first time, I use my left index finger for the sensor & it's not an issue at all.

I hope that more apps will fall under the "dual app" feature. Pokémon go can be used as a double app, but Starbucks cannot. I also have 2 other games that I play while at Starbucks and I want to be able to open the coffee store apps & one game at the same time. Man, now I gotta do it the old fashioned way & press the app buttons separately!

Coming from the s7 edge, this is a massive upgrade in hardware! I read and watched so many reviews and alot of the reviewers said the phone was to big and heavy. But to me it actually feels great in hand, the screen real estate is excellent and the weight gives me reassurance that I have a solid quality device in my hand and also makes me grip it just a little more firm to prevent accidents.

The phone works great, smooth and quick like all new Samsung devices, I just hope it doesn't bog down like my s7 edge did. I have had more luck with notes then with s series phones when it comes to the infamous Samsung slowdown lag after about 3 to 4 months due to the heavy software. I think the notes handle this better since they usually have more ram and 6 months more optimization.

I have had a couple of issues, my edge tasks won't let me edit the tasks list and it freezes the whole edge app and restarts it. Also had Gmail force close a couple of times during initial updates but it's seemed to calm down. If it's anything like my note 7 was the software didn't really settle in until after a few days and really seemed to shine just before I had to turn it in.

Nevertheless, this is a great phone so far, I love it, even Bixby is nice despite the many negative reviews, you just have to use it for what it was intended for as a Google Assistant counterpart and not a Google Assistant replacement.
