Customising ringtone from the SD card

I am trying to setup my new S7 Edge. I want to customise my ringtone from a song which is stored on my SD card. When i click the + at the bottom of the available ringtones it wont detect my music. What am i not doing?

There are quite a few things that are not available from the SD card. I would imagine ringtones would be one of those and they need to be loaded in the phone itself.

Is this an Mp3 you're trying to pick, what do you have set as default to search for files, I use sound picker and it has no problem showing audio files no matter where they are.

You could always use Ringdroid, it allows you to set custom ringtones as well as trim the files to suit.

The Mp3 file needs to be on the phone, it wont work from the SD card
