I would have but my out of the box was just over a week ago, so it was already too late.

I think we all need to remember that this forum is not sub-divided by carriers (WHY NOT?) On Sprint we have two root methods (one trips knox and the other doesn't, at least until you install a custom recovery). And for all I know, that may have changed with newer variations of the S5. Apparently, some of the other carriers are not as easily rooted yet.
