cyanogen release candidate 1 has hit the streets!

Nope... followed all the steps, didn't deviate from the plan... Is there a way to wipe everything... I mean everything and start over? I want to re-root this phone now and mess around as much as possible so I essentially can practice before I get my new phone... at this point don't think I'll re-root my new one.. to much of a risk IMO.... Convince me otherwise....!

follow this and see if you can get it back to working. if you can then you can try another root method. maybe Unrevoked 3 or Toast's method. see where you go from there. I was Scared Sh!tless when i started out, and i bricked my EVO twice, followed the above link and got it back working. I am now running CM6 RC1 like a dream. no issues at all.

I said it in the nightly thread and I'll say it here..... the latest nightly has gotten rid of the voicemail notification ..... very happy to see that gone!

does this release enable 4G and the front facing camera? i didn;t see it mentioned in the changelog or this thread...

The camera is set at 8mp by default and the camcorder is set to 720p by default. The settings icon in the camera is scrollable. Take a look at all the settings.

Yeah, I didn't realize the settings were scrollable. Bummer, I just went back to 2.1+sense (rooted) cause I was kind of sick of all the little things. The camera resolution was just 1 of them. Another thing I couldn't do was change the PRL based on the information to use Verizons towers. None of the codes worked or and both dialers would not even accecpt ##----# codes.

I know this is out of topic but when I restored my nandroid backup I thought I would be back exactly where I was when I took it. To my disaapointment it took me back to the ROM but with a data wipe so I had to restore or download everything. Can I assume there is not way to backup everything (including data) in one step or do I have to always do both a nandroid and Titanium Backup? I guess I was thinking Nandroid backup was like a ghost image in the "PC" world... Bummer, that would be nice!

I haven't restored from a NAND backup yet, but I was also under the assumption that it was like a ghost image and would take me back to exactly how it was when I made the image. I still use Titanium for my apps, but I'm sad to hear that a NAND restore doesn't take me to how everything was. I guess it doesn't make as much sense for me to get a ROM set up the way I want, then make a backup, then try another ROM if I'm gonna have to do it all over again.

Anyone else have any input on this?

It should restore to exactly how you left it. I have done Nandroid backups with no problems.

Strange as I am 99% sure I did not take a NANDROID backup on the fresh install (full wipe) so not sure why I needed up with a fresh install after the NANDROID restore.
