Cyanogenmod, 3d, HTC Sense

Ok, I got to play with the EVO3d at Sam's Club tonight and here's my dilema: 3d is NOT a gimmick, its BAD ASS!! but I hate HTC Sense, just don't like it. So I was hoping that 3d would be stupid, put CM7 on it when we get root and I'm happy. So here's the biggie what are the odds of Cyanogenmod ever incorporating the 3d feature. I am just gonna go out on a hunch and say probably NEVER. But man that 3d screen is so sweet.

Are you talking about the 3D camera? The screen will be the same on Cyanogen as it is on Sense.

If your talking camera I doubt it. Those ROM's are all pure Google for the.most part.

Ya I'm talking the 3d cameras, and for that matter is there special software that makes it a 3d screen also? Or will 3d YouTube movies still work no matter what the ROM??

I agree the LAST reason I got this phone for was the 3D I thought I would NEVER use it!! But now that I see it I am VERY IMPRESSED!! I seen it on that Nintendo 3ds thing and just though "crap" but IT'S NOT like it is on the 3DS it's WAYYYY BETTER!

I could see the cm evo 3d dev porting a 3d camera somehow. Maybe port the sense 3d camera with aosp skin. We shall see. I would be sad to lose 3d functionality also

I doubt any Cyanogenmod release would incorporate the 3D aspects, since I doubt they are open sourced by HTC (although I certainly could be wrong).

However, I'm sure some enterprising developer will cook up an AOSP ROM with the 3D camera ported in.

keep in mind too that the phone just came out. Strangely, there's some common HTC apps that are missing like the HTC flashlight app, etc. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that we'll see some more 3D enabled apps, etc. from HTC as well in the near future.

There was a rumor somewhere (I think on XDA, but not 100% sure on that), that HTC is working on a landscape mode for HTC Sense that would give you the UI in 3D. Gimmicky, obviously, but might be cool nonetheless. LG's new 3D phone has that ability already, so I suppose HTC would want to follow suit since the Sence UI is far superior.

Perhaps you might like Sense more if it was in 3D (obviously the phone will have to be held in landscape mode for this to work).

Also, there's some sort of confirmation of Angry Birds coming later this year in 3D that mentioned the LG 3D phone and the 3DS, so you can pretty much assume the Evo will probably get it as well. Win.
