CyanogenMod 6 port for the Incredible

Please help me! I rooted my Incredible with the under 10 minutes version from youtube. I've taken all the updates and clockwork mod files that i had previously saved on my SD card and flashed clockwork again and tried to install CM6 several times and it just refuses to let me flash it. What's even worse is it won't let me flash a nandroid backup. Someone please help.

I have dl the CM6 from ROM Manager, did Nandroid backup, full wipe, then install zip from sd card. It starts unzipping the file then I get a "installation aborted" message. It says "Can't open /sdcard/cm_inc-07092010-013513.zip (bad) Installation aborted. Please open ROM Manager to report the issue." When I dl the file it had a .zip.tmp so I deleted the .tmp ext and just left it as .zip. I am of course using ClockworkMod. Am I missing something or doing something wrong. I am using HTC Incredible with v. 2.1 update 1 now. Thanks for all your help and hard work.

It sounds like you didn't let the file finish downloading. Apps will put a .tmp on the file until it's finished downloading, then rename it to .zip. Try to re-download the file again. You shouldn't have to remove any .tmp extensions if it was downloaded properly.

I have to agree with belogical here. Try to redownload the file and you should be good to go.

ok, i have rooted, ran unrevoked, did a titanium backup and a rom manager backup and now i want to install cyanogen.

i have purchased Rom Manager Premium. I believe that i just have to go to nightly builds.
Currently it is CM6- 07092010 @ 013513

is this the correct rom for the Incredible?
Also i have heard people say that they do a wipe before installing a rom. How would i do that and does it erase the SD card also?

When you decide to download and install the ROM it will ask you once you get it downloaded if you want to wipe the device. Just select yes, it will reboot and take care of it. And no it doesn't wipe your SD card just certain directories in your system directory which clears out ROM specific options etc. As far as I know, it detects your phone and only shows compatible ROMs. But the one you listed is the same as the one my ROM manager shows, so yes it's the correct one.

Ugh, no more nightly builds for the DI :(

Yeah but if you ask me it's a good thing. They have worked all the simple bugs out of the build, now they have to tackle the major bugs with GPS, MMS, etc. So from this point on each release will be a bigger step that what we have seen over the last two weeks give or take.

So good luck to the Devs on this one, because writing a custom driver for the Camera is going to be tricky if not impossible. Best of luck and I'm patiently waiting on an awesome ROM release!

The camera was the only thing I was really waiting on. I read on one of the last updates that the camera was fixed. Either way, best of luck to the guys. This just means once they tackle the DInc, they'll tackle it with full force.

Last I saw on the Dev checklist they fixed GPS but not the camera. AFAIK there are no Froyo ROMs with working cameras.

I installed Cyanogen 6 from my sd card and its been hanging on the Android logo screen and thats it..can anybody help me?

I had the same problem as perreoking. Left it running for about 30 minutes, it never left the android splash screen. Restored to backup w/o any problem - gotta love ROM Manager!

I'm checking out the Sky Rider Beta now...

Sky Rider is working great for me. It just gives me a "can not find" error when installing some of my apps from market. That mixed with no working camera probably means I'll be rolling back to a 2.1 ROM until htc gets a driver out to the ROM cookers.

I read this somewhere and it worked for me since I had the same issue. If you're using ROM Manager, you need to hit menu and "Clear Download Cache" and check "Wipe Data and Cache" before you hit "ok" in the ROM Re-Install. Also, re-downloading the .zip file wouldn't hurt matters either just as a precaution. I hope this helps you as well as it helped me.

Now I'm just waiting on a camera fix to use this rom all the time. :D

I figured out why the CyanogenMod ROM was freezing at boot screen, at least for me. There are two ROMs listed in ROM Manager. The one listed under free is for the Droid, Sapphire, Nexus One and Dream - big surprise, it freezes! The one listed under CyanogenMod Nightlies loaded just fine.

I haven't played with it too much. I like the feel of the stock OS, but I was surprised the performance wasn't better. Linpack and Quadrant both showed better scores even than the SkyRaider ROM, but it didn't feel like it performed better.
