I read the article about 7.1 being released, I am not home enough to deal with nightlies and it looks, upon reading the article on 7.1 being out, that another stable build is out for for the DroidX (one of many listed).

Am I reading this wrong? Sorry for being ignorant - I have been on tons of different ROMs including CM4DX but an 8/30 build and frankly I LOVE the ROM but just can't do updates on a nightly basis.

I have ROM manager but don't see it in there - thx in advance. I am currently running APEX 2.0 RC3.

Need the paid rom manager to get it. Just use the most current nightly from 10/8 its the new one. No need to update every night. I do every few weeks.

I tried to find in rom manager and I do not see it in the download page, any idea what I might be missing?

Another question to ask is why you're upgrading daily just because their are nightly builds? I upgraded when the changelog had something interesting or when it looks like they fixed a bug I cared about. This tended to happen once every few weeks at my leisure.

Thx gang, I do have the paid ROM Manager....the only ones that are really recent are some EnYo add-on's (10/8) and Liquid Smooth ROMs (10/7)....but actually the Liquid based on 2.3.7 AOSP looks kinda attractive.

I will likely hit up the most recent nightly - thanks for the help as always ya'll make messin' with my phone more fun. Love watching my co-workers buy iPhones and after about a month they are basically just like "oh well" cause it never changes :).

I was wondering the same thing...I went ahead and downloaded the most recent nightly. I'm assuming that this is the "stable" build. I also could not find it in ROM Manager...so who knows.

The only reason I jumped to CM7 was because of the blog post on the main page. I was running stock GB before.

So far I love this ROM! I ran Liberty a while back but ultimately went back to stock. Looking forward to getting comfortable with CM7.

Hello, I am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

I am running 4.5.588 on a rooted Droid X.

I am interested in trying out the CyanogenMod because everyone rates it so highly, but I am not sure what steps to follow.

I know I have to flash my phone back to a stock version of Gingerbread, but the instructions I have seen do not mention my .588 build, so I am not clear on what files I need. For example, this site has some decent instructions but my build number is not mentioned

[ROM][BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for the Droid X

I currently have VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.zip and rsdlite_4.8.zip and I also have z4root on my DX. I own both the Droid X and the Droid 2 bootstrapper programs and I own the paid version of ROM Manager.

So any help on what files i need and in what order I need to perform this upgrade would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Elizabeth

It appears I have to flash back to Froyo and not Gingerbread? Is that the case? The fellow on one of the links I provided says that if you have the 2.6.32 kernel (I do), you need to go back to Froyo.

I think that 2.3.34 file could be the right one to flash back to.

@eklisiewicz

RevNumbers CM runs on GB. Since you're on 588, you'll need to get to 604/605 first, which you can do by flashing the TBH 604 all-in-one zip, or using the 604 SBF.

Sorry, I don't have the links handy, but you can get RevNumbers CM over at rootwiki (there's a CyanogenMod subforum in the Droid X Developer forum), or from JRummy's ROM Toolbox. You can get the 604 AIO from the TBH app, or mydroidworld.

If you want to install cvpcs's official CM, then yes, you would need to SBF back to 340.

I used the P3droid all in one monster zip. It worked great and flashed in clockwork. Ill take a look for it and post the link. Then after that just flash the most current nightly.

Hate linking another site but want to make sure your helped. Use the second one on this site the MDW one. http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/15/download-cm7-released-for-the-droidx/
