ok, the mybackup pro method worked but now I'm bored. I tried to restore the nandroid again and force closed all over the place. Gonna try the DI01 route this time.

Sure they could do Odin after the DI01, forgot about your convenient packages. Six of one, half dozen of the other. The main point is to nuke everything before the nandroid. How you get the modem, cwm and kernel on there is up to you.
When official froyo comes out ill make a package similar to that of DI01. Nuke the whole thing ...great now you have me using the term Nuke lol
Well, the DI01 route didn't work either. Think I have corrupt app data somewhere. If I use select all in MyBackup Pro and restore data, it force closes after a reboot just like the nandroid backup. I selectively restored a couple apps and it's still working fine. At least I have my angry birds progress back. lol
Yeah you're not the only one having problems, someone in IRC last night borked their phone pretty good too. And DI01 didn't help them either

Just out of curiosity, will we ever see an official CM rom from the CM team? The second post on their homepage seems to indicate why, but I honestly don't understand what that has to do with it. Seems like it's because they'd have to change too much and it could break it for other devices? I don't know enough about how they do things. They don't seem to think that all the unofficial ports are really up to their standards.
I gave up on trying to get the nandroid restored. I think it's something in the data itself that is causing the issue. Nandroid restore is no go, full restore in MyBackup Pro is no go, selective restore of apps/data works. Not quite bored enough to go through the list of apps to figure out what's makes it go wonky. I just let Froyo restore all of the apps automatically, restored data for Angry Birds and a couple other things and restored sms/mms and haven't had any force closes.
i tried it out. its neato, but more stuff needs to work for a daily driver. i didnt have the fc problems. some stuff like su force closed, but not much. nandroid was fine. i wiped data and cache like 10 times and then flash a new kernel then nandroid.
yeah, it was actually fairly smooth. And I had forgotten how much I hated that stupid 3D app drawer.
