I am wondering if there is something similar to the Cydia Background Manager application for iOS that can be used on Android devices. I am looking for something that will allow me to force an app that goes to the background to stay in a foreground state like you can do with the Background Manager application.

This is the app I am referring to just in case...

Background Manager ? Cydia

Thank you.

Two apps that might help are:

https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...d=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup&token=R9bcWGAh Titanium backup(requires root)

and

https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ails?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&token=wQUuBMLN Greenify (non-root mode in beta)

You can "hibernate" apps so they stay asleep. They won't run in the background.

Thank you for that information. I have installed Greenify, but unfortunately that app does the exact opposite. When I switch between apps one goes into background mode while the other one then becomes the active app in foreground mode. What I would like to do is force the app going into the background to stay in foreground mode like this Background Manager app allows.

I currently dont have my Motorola Xoom rooted as from what I understand you have to alter the bootloader which will in turn basically wipe the device.

What version of android do you have?

Why would I want to disable an app? I'm not sure that is going to give me the result I am looking for. If I am missing something please let me know.

OH. My bad, you want to keep apps running? I've been showing you apps that disable haha :P

Dang it, I'll keep looking \(^o^)/

I greatly appreciate the help. I am still looking around myself, but I am not having any luck. The next step for me will most likely be to go ahead and root the device and see what the Xposed modules may have to offer.
