AHHH boot loops!!!!! I tried wiping everything more than once. CM6 8-6 build runs fine. I try to flash this on top of it and it gives me a boot loop. Any suggestions?

I'm using RA recovery, not clockwork. It did the same thing in clockwork. I've wiped everything (cache, data, dalvik) and now I'm at a loss.

Hmmm

Just Flash one of the Nightlies...

dont wipe anything maybe just Davlik...

then Flash the Star...

Hey, can any of you guys see if this little "quirk" is going on for you too.. My charging indicator LED turns green before it reaches 100% .. right now my phone is showing 96% and the indicator LED is lit up green. Just curious.. not that i really care.. but it is a bait and switch when i pick it up thinking its fully charged and its not hah

It did that for me too when i was on 2.1 Stock...

A little trick if you want... let it charge to 100%

Turn off the phone with the USB unplugged

While its off Plug it back in the orange light comes on charges for a few minutes then turns green...

Turn the phone back on your at 100% it lasts a little longer like a few minutes lol

so i installed 8-06 and then went in recovery flashed zip from sd selected zip and it said cant open file. aborted. so im running 8-06 feather right now till i get this figured out.

Actually on 8-06 and feather, My phone is running pretty fast and scrolling fast. its not as slow as 8-03 feather was.

Tried installing rom from sd card from rom manager and it didnt work that way either. And now bootloop

No luck. I'm sad now. I wanted to try this. Heck I'm having problems getting plain CM6 to run now. I must have another problem. But each time I retried I wiped everything. I did do what you suggested and just wiped dalvik, but it did the same thing.

I must be super lucky.. cause i went from Unrevoked 3.. did the unroot process.. did the full root process.. flashed new nightlies.. applied feather.. reflashed regular nightly.. then star power up.. Zero issues.. :)

When I get home me and Fonz will be working on a new Boot animation to go with the Name 5T4R...

I'll Test this out see if there is anything Going on behind the Scenes... anyone who Successfully Flashed Chime in and help out...

you are more than super lucky. unrooting and doing full root was a HUGE PITA for me.

I wish i could help you man.. All i can tell you is i'm running the Clockwork recovery.. I'm rooted with simple root method.. flashed the update.zip of the CM6 nightly, then did the STAR update.zip on top and everything worked.. What state is your phone in right now?

Sent from my uber hax Evo

You talking to me? haha.. Can you please explain the difference between flashing conventionally.. and renaming files to update.zip ?

Update.zip Is just telling clockwork to perform the update.zip

Flashing conventionally like i said is going to install .zip from sdcard
going to the folder you placed it in and just selecting it...

That prob doesnt make sense but whatever :p

Believe it or not.. that actually made perfect sense to me.. There is the first option to apply Update.zip and then the second option to apply a zip from sd card which allows you to go to a different folder than the root folder to apply a zip.. I guess i was just confused because one time i tried the second method and it didn't work, so i took the zip, moved it to the root and named it update.zip and it worked. When you do the other method that allows you to drill down to a subfolder and select a zip.. does it have to be named update.zip as well? Or it can be whatever file name you download it as?

That sir is very clever... Im impressed...

I named it update.zip and moved it to the root of the sd card. Went in recover on flashed update.zip

Cannot open update.zip
Bad

Idk what the deal is with my phone but its running a lot faster with 8-06 and feather so I won't be too mad if it never works.

What am I missing out on? Just fps? If mines capped now it feels fast to me

I don't remember what to download to test fps.
