I have mostly been installing zip from sd card but a few days ago I tried to do it your way with v1 and it didn't work either. I will try it again with v2.
 
I just downloaded the 8/9 nightly, I'm going to flash that.. then try to load the STAR v2. I'll let you know how it goes and what methods i went about flashing them to get it all to work. I'm almost done downloading V2, then i'll start.. so i'll post back here in a lil bit to let you know how it went.

Which recovery are you using? I'm using Clockwork.. i've seen that error message before actually.. and in MY case.. the zip file i had was actually bad.. like it stated. I noticed the file size was off, so my download wasn't good. Not saying thats what your issue is, but definitely check the file size.. see if it seems legit.
 
I just flashed the 8/9 nightly by choosing the zip file on the sd/downloads without renaming it to update.zip

O/C - 1.15
Quadrant - 1423
Neocore - 31.0fps
FPS2D - 53avg stdev=4.36

--Powered Off Phone---
--Boot into recovery ---

Install Star V2 from sd/downloads

Reboot

O/C - 1.19
Quadrant: 1583
Neocore : 30.4
FPS2D : 51fps stdev=7.76


So, i had zero problems flashing the new nightly or star v2 via install from sd card.. Quadrant score went up with the O/C (my guess) .. fps went down slightly with star v2.

Your right.the file is supposed to be 67,770kb and evertime I dl I get 6.57kb. Idk why it won't dl this has probably been the problem the whole time.

I've tried 5 times to download this. Same problem every time.

Are you trying the download from the phone.. or from your computer? I've tried from the phone before and had this result, so i downloaded via the computer.. then transferred it to my phone thru the USB cable and it worked.
 
I'm downloading from my phone. I broke a huge chunk out of my knee on june 18th and have had two surgerys since then. I'm still too lazy to go to the computer. I guess I'll crawl out there and give it a try.

Edit: Your the man jrun. I downloaded from my computer transferred it to my sdcard installed zip from sdcard and it worked perfect.thanks for the help!

Random Question -

Is there any way to remove ADW launcher from the CM6 roms? I'm able to force stop, but not able to remove it from the manage applications screen. I like using Launcher Pro, so adw i always find running in the bg.. even after force closes it comes back.

Edit: Also, with this 8/9 build and STAR v2.. i'm getting this overlayed message popping up on the screen every 10-15 seconds that says "This feature does not support current system version"

Not sure what thats about..

Sweet man! Glad i could help :) Isn't the font in star sexy!? haha Comes with some nice apps too, i like it alot. And the swype keyboard is really fun to use.. i get to impress the guys at work with it.. everyone is blown away that hasn't seen it before :) How are you liking the 8/10 nightly? Anything new? I think i read there is a new app, Torch included that is a flashlight app.

Hey D3X, i just flashed 8/10.. you might already know, i didn't.. but it looks like the fps is no longer capped in the nightly roms.. The star packs were coming with a different kernel than stock nightly right? Which kernel is star v2 using?

The font apps and swype are all the same as feather.i haven't really noticed anything new.i posted a while back that there was no fps cap and I was getting 51 fps on feather.there is the new torch app.its pretty cool you can even make it strobe. I just wanted to flash star because it was making me angry that I couldn't. I had to make it work.

the Higher GHZ you use the lower your FPS its just a trade off... if you go back down to 1.15 you should see a similar FPS as previous

5t4R v2 should be running Snap V5.1 if not then its V4.0 Im not sure which file i uploaded both work the same...

and the nightlies never had an FPS cap... I dont think they did...

I just started flashing Kernels for the O/c and U/c

I need to Flash 8/10 today... I'll do it when i have time...

I want to Fix up a few things in 5T4R aswell... so I guess stay tuned...

Im Glad you got it to work...

Im going to be making some Visual Changes to 5T4R when i have a chance...

I'll Also Throw in some Apps and a different Boot once me and my buddy finish up the boot animation...
