I'm asking late since I did. I wanted a new "old" phone not a used one. The phone is real Samsung phone, but they put their own custom software on it and I can't get it to update past KK. Any ideas?

Mod you can close this I figured it out myself. Just used Odin and flashed the latest stock tmobile rom and it's working fine now

I bought 3 Note 4s on Craigslist. $200 each.
Got the first one for my Wife, couple weeks later I got one for her friend.
Now, about 8 months later, I bought one for myself.
Be careful buying on CL. You really need to know what you are doing and buying. Always meetup in public in view of security cameras, bring a friend. Check the IMEI, and water damage indicators.
