Dark theme for contacts and texting

Is it possible to lighten up the theme on the contacts and texting screens.

I know the dark theme saves battery life but I would like some options.

You could try using a third party messaging app, Go SMS Pro (Free). It does the same thing as the stock app, and you can customize it.

That's not true on our phones. The Bionic has a super LCD screen with an always on backlight, regardless of pixel state. The only time a black theme saves power is if it's one of the AMOLED displays. On them, the pixels make their own light, so black turns it completely off and no power is used for lighting it.

I have the same complaints! I am all for the updated OS, but HATE the color scheme. I went the Go launcher/sms/notification/keyboard etc. route, GOsms is quite nice, and the launcher as well. They offer themes so you can modify the color scheme to your liking. Just some minor quirks to get used to.

EDIT: this was the best quick fix I could find...if anyone has any other solutions to leave the phone as stock as possible (i.e. not having to use all the GO(insert app function here) ) , I'm all ears...
