Dark Theme in Lollipop is on its way.

Not sure how the colours / animations will work with a dark theme.

This feature will most likely appear in custom ROMs before stock, like The Real Dark Slim option in SlimKat.

I use slimrom because of its all black interface, so much easier on the eye and saves a little battery to boot the biggest problem is that custom roms dont have full support for the camera fucntions which is pretty much a deal breaker but then again so is having to look at touchwiz.

Ive looked around and I surprised there isnt a dark theme or that someone hasnt pulled the camera functionality of the google play edition and put it into their custom roms.

or maybe someone has?

CM 12 already has dark themes.

So happy about the dark theme! And while they're at it, could they also add tap to wake?

Better than that, look at an app called 'Gravity Screen' which you can set to turn your screen ON just by waving your finger or hand over the proximity sensor, much better than any physical 'tapping'. Also can turn screen OFF by tilting or turning over/upside-down.

Is there an update whether or not this will happen? I really dislike the "Whiteness" Lollipop added.

I found the requested enhancement for this. Please log into the site with your google account and star the enhancement to add your vote.

If you get talking to them at Android again could you please tell them that this light theme is migraine inducing for people with light sensitivity. I got the update notification last night on my Galaxy S4 and unthinkingly updated without looking at any posts about it. I absolutely hate what this update has done to my phone.

Is there anyway I can downgrade this back to Kit Kat? Please help!!!!! My husband is a software developer and I know how long somethings can take but I just don't think I can live with my phone being this way for very long.

Actually looking at the post ahead of me, I think that is my husband. LOL

Thank goodness, it couldn't come quick enough.

I knew I should have investigated this update before applying it. Now my settings menu, keyboard and most of my menus look like white Apple iVomit

Sorry guys, I asked but he doesn't have any further information regarding how exactly it will be implemented or whether it will be as soon as 5.01 or what.

Well it took getting the dev version of Android "M", but the darkness has arrived. :-D

Yes, but only in the settings screens.

I guess that helps some!
But I'm not at all happy with the look of Lollipop.
Interesting they are already to jump to "M" without fixing "L".
