Ever since I got this phone I've been trying all kind of ways to improve my battery. I recently noticed some people on here disable data mode when they are not using it. I have never thought about doing that. Those who do this, has it helped alot?

Turning off data is a HUGE gain in battery life over the course of a day. Keep in mind that notifications require it to be on. IE: no data, no new e-mail, tweets, FB notifications, etc...

This is one of the big things that programs like Juice Defender do, they kill data most of the time, and turn it back on for a few minutes at a time to allow notifications to come through, than shut it down again.

I used Juice Defender up until I enabled the Google Voice option with my phone. From that point on, I had a delay in receiving texts, so I had to uninstall JD. Just some food for thought on that.

juice defender makes my battery go dead faster than without.

Nothing works as well as using your power button as if you were going to power off the phone but select "Data network mode" [deactivate or activate]. I have a Power Control Plus widget that has 2/3G data and 3 cellular data modes that sometimes works, but even it is unreliable. Just use the built in Data Network mode that came with Froyo.
